Friends of TWA

MOTIF, an annual anthology series by MotesBooks of Lousville, is accepting submissions of poems, short stories, song lyrics, short memoir, essays, letters, creative non-fiction, and other genres for their inaugural publication. The working title is Writing By Ear, and the theme is Music. Editor is Marianne Worthington, and deadline for submission is August 5, 2008. Publication date is November, 2008. The Writer' Workshop, Asheville, is sponsoring its 19th annual Poetry Contest, with a May 30, 2008 postmark deadline, First prize is $300. An entry includes three poems, with a $20 entry fee ($15 for Workshop members). In addition, the Writers' Workshop sponsors a Hard Times Writing Contest (July 30, 2008 deadline), Short Fiction Contest (September 30, 2008 deadline), and 20th annual Memoirs Competition (November 30, 2008 deadline).
